You looked at me and said it from the depth of your soul.
I felt it, I knew it.  I won't attempt to define it.
Your eyes said more than anything you could verbalize.
I wanted to tell you then everything I was feeling.
I could not stablize so I only said, "me, too."

Familiar stranger, I feel no danger in your embrace.
You wrap your warmth around me. I settle deep within it.
I see no sin, no compromise.  I feel safe inside your heart.
Take me there whenever.  Keep me there if you wish.
We are apart and separate,
but there is a binding thread.
* * *
I have never writen love letters
that flowed poetically.
Nor have I touched a hand so warm
that set me so at ease.

I don't even know your name and yet
I feel I know your soul.
You come from nowhere that I know
and help me see it all.
Your touch is like the sculpter's
who knows the clay so well.
You bring out all the good in me
that few can ever tell.

No, I have never written love letters --
     perhaps I'll never still.
But strong, gentle man,
     you so tempt me,
     perhaps, someday I will.

Yes, what all lovers want to hear.
This does flow poetically...

Oh iliana,,,,
so sweet and fragile,,,,timid,,,
I myself am an amazon of a woman,,,yet, the feelings that come forth when I hear my man say " I love you", make me feel so weak,,,,,with happiness....how did I ever deserve such a wonderful man?

But you have written love letters, and this one certainly "flows poetically" and is an excellent example , just look at the second part of this stanza....:-)

Wow.  I can't say I'm much for "love" letters and poems myself.  But, this one was so much more.  It said so much while being romantic and soft.  And to have someone bring that out in us - it's like a part of us we didn't know comes alive.  Beautiful!

There's no need, if you write poetry that flows like love itself. This is beautifully done.

iliana,

This is beautiful.  I especially liked the part about never knowing his name.   It reminded me of a trip I took to Georgia with the family.  Everyone was jumbled in the car, impatiently waiting, and I was moving very, very slowly, to a Convenient Store wearing an attitude.  A smiling gentleman held the door open when he saw me, two or three minutes away.  The patience that he showed me was warming,   Funny,I hadn't thought about the gentleman in years, and I only knew him for seconds, but I felt like I
I known him for a good part of my life.  Glad to have read your poem and traveled back.
