“THROUGH A SLEEPY FOREST”’
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
I walked softly through a sleepy
forest in the early morning as the moons
light embraced the trees, and a soft
breeze flowed through the shadows and
touched upon my being
in the silence…
I heard your whispers as they danced
tenderly into my ears embracing
me with them, and they sang with the
gentleness of heartfelt lullabies
from one to the other, their innocence
being of a heart as gentle as a
child’s sleeping breath…
Shadows danced lazily with moonbeams
in the dim of the light, and the trees
sighed in their silence, for their thoughts
became of yours as your breath
entered into them and into this essence,
this I remember, as I walked softly
in the early morning
through a sleepy forest…
What beautiful imagery here Bill.
As soft as a lullaby.
Hi BC ... stunning write and the imagery is so reminiscent of my stroll at Walden Pond last week. Perhaps we were together in spirit brought there by Henry David Thoreau!
Bill...I don't believe I've ever read a poem of yours so dream-like and wistful. There was the essence of longing hidden in your words. ***Ivy Rose
Wonderful visions flowing in your words.  Hopefully you will wait to take another walk when the weather is nicer and you won't freeze your buns off.
