where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2004-01-14 04:00 PM

there was no time to dry my cheeks

i know what it is you really want.

so i ran deep into the trees
and hoped they'd consume me
continually skipping the beats

blame the mirror
not it's reflection
I've given you nothing
but the distant cold wonder
no hope
I am holding you down

I've lost
my sight
I know
nothing of
the blood
I've lost by
loving
the one
soul
that
could never
love me back..

my hair
is not blonde
my eyes
are not wide
my dialect
is not foreign
to you..

Mine is
the heart that
always shatters,
mine are the words
that reek with redundancy..

There are only so many ways
to
tell you..

this is just
who I am
and who I'll always be.

In love with you
regardless
of the fact that

I am not what
you really want..
Though my devotion
is in no consistant pattern,
I have shown you nothing but.

And now I fear the end before it's even come
down to this..

My skin may shed
but until you've bled
my blood,
my love,
you'll not understand
the pain
it's caused
knowing...

everything I'll never be.

Oh Meghan!!  What a fantastic write!
WOW!...I am speechless!
Just know I have been here and read..
and now sit staring at the screen.

Yes, you do know how to make a reader feel it..

Meghan,  your poetry makes me fumble around trying to think of the words to tell you how it makes me feel. I can't, so just know that I love the way you write. It really touches me, Meg.

Wow, I just agree with all the above comments. You need to find a publisher and make us all happy already.

I like it, even though parts of it deal with more morbid and dark subject matter, parts of it retain a "new agey" vibe to it.
