It is cold

and they are naked

but the trees
catch snow

in their hands.
          ( Copyright:  Enchantress)

Such days as these
You stand bare and I
Shiver with this anticipated change
In climate

Knowing the hands I use
Will brush away
Trembled cold

Then warm your limbs
though
Shadows seem stark
On winter’s snow
That fell through trees

Come,
We will ignore their marks
And as one
Match the sun for shades
Of this the color
That rises in flush
On cheek

Bared
Our hands
Touch

Meg.. thank you ma'am.. glad you liked..

Nightshade.. the words your sister wrote indeed started me down three paths of adding to them or using them.. her imagery was strong and it painted a mood as well as a picture.. the one I posted, was perhaps the least intimate of the directions... but perhaps the most universal as well..

my thanks to you both..and to nancy for allowing me to play with her words...

There's been a whole lot of inspire lately...but I'm hard put to say that this doesn't top 'em.

thank you Nancy..for the use of the words.
Sunshine.. I doubt it tops any..but your kindness is appreciated
McLean.. glad you enjoyed

and for another version..lol.. one of the inspires was simply to add to her words as this:

It is cold

and they are naked

but the trees
catch snow

in their hands

While I

in reach of mine

feel the cold

of you

Mmmmmm..I like the second one as well.
I do have a thing for short ..to the point verses.
That is..unless, it is one of your stories Captain.

    In the midst of winter..
I found there lives within me,
    an invincible summer.

Very beautiful Cpat

It's always a pleasure to read you Sir

Ron ... what a tribute to Enchantress to add words to her piece. And your words are as beautiful as hers.
