Sister and Friend

I wish I had the words to say to make this all better
For I am the poet, and that's suppose to be what I can do
Words can't undo the years of heartache we've both suffered though
So all I have are the simple words...I love you

I meant it when I said you are my hero
You are that and so much more
I've watched as you climbed all the hills and mountains of your life
As you finally grew your wings, and learned how to soar

It's amazing when I think back to all the times we've been through
There has been so much sadness and hurt, mixed in with a little bit of happiness
In you I have found more than a sister, I have found a best friend
It's with all the love in my heart, that this poem I send

You've shown me what it's like to be strong, and to stand up and fight
Since you were little you have struggled with all of your might
Though I never said it then, I'm saying it now
I believe in myself more, you showed me how

Linda, what I'm trying to say is I'm proud of who you are
You've created your own path, and now sit in the sky as a heavenly star
You have grown into a beautiful woman, whose beauty shines outside and in
It's with both an honor and pleasure that I call you both sister and friend

thank you all for your warm and
sincere replies...as always your
encouragement and support means so
much to me. i have the pleasure of
having two very wonderful sisters, and
I write about one of them, Lisa from
time to time. I felt it was high time
I wrote about the other as well!

Thank you for taking the time to
read and respond.

Take care.
