I Do Windows

My fantasy is ladder stood
And I, the one on top.
Down below, but close at hand
The eyes that hold, nonstop.

To watch me do them, all in time
Those windows, forty-seven.
There in thoughts, as I pass ten
Now leaning towards eleven.

Who'd have thought the trick there is
In attention's holding tight
As I pretend a slip or fall
And you reach up with might.

Strong in hand to set me up,
A balance act to follow.
Now I'm onto twenty-one
and find it hard to swallow

That you are there, still down below
Feeding eyes the scene.
Who does windows anyway?
Just me, when on caffeine.

Well, onto thirty, and past the mark
Of halfway, dare to wonder.
Who is this, that waits below ,
Smiling from down under?

Sighing now I'm almost done,
the last of forty-seven.
Window's outlook from the roof
that dream...my tree of heaven.

Yes, I do windows, just for you
to feed your eyes their seen.
Me on top and you below,
with thoughts of in between.

M

You are one of the few to write something I love

I really like this and I love the words, the imagination and the twist of the words to deliver reality and the real life

the view
as windows cleaned
take on morning's gleam
reminded me of sheets

soft as couds

and I,
view the below
with stars in my eyes and
a hint of a smile
remembering once...
the soft

for you C

Donna, good afternoon
I really don't drink caffeine (or not of my own knowledge) or I would fly through the chore of windows.
Actually I am recaulking some to keep the bitter cold out and  while on the ladder  was thinking about  "doing windows"

Hope all is well and that
your holidays were pleasant
hugs

well M, it is important to make sure those cracks are filled correctly. One has to position the gun at an angle and make sure to keep contact with the tip and develop a rythm as they move along the void... if you don't do it right one ends up with unsatisfactory results and possibly having to do the job over again.. hope your caulking was effective... it does help stave off the cold...

hey..I do do windows remember..and yes I  cut the tip, angled it just right and filled in the gap...then used a sponge to clean off the extra...hey I have lived in this old house for 24 of its 103 years...

It is like a baby to me...and is always crying for more to be done and redone...and redone.

Now when I get to redoing the roof...that will be something to watch!!

Loved the (un)intentional subtext connotations in this write, Maureen.   As for me...  I DON'T do Windows -- MAC, MAC, MAC, MAC, MAC!

Only you could write of an event or imagination and draw people right there with you! Excellent as always!

You repair shutters AND do windows?  Sounds like spring is in the air at your house!
