-Dreamlands Rose-

Hello dreamlands rose
You grow in my heart
You grace that place inside
Where life is healed and born again
You called to me
And whispered when I was in pain
Now I know what heaven is
And its stars spell out your name

Your legend lives like a candle in the breeze
Never dying with the sunset
Or when the rains set in
Your footsteps will always grace the land
Along my dreamlands greenest hills
Your candle’s flame burns bright tonight
Just like your legend always will

Loveliness I’ve seen
These days are empty without your smile
This torch will always burn in me
For my dreamlands golden child
Even thought I try
The truth brings me to tears
All my words can never express
The joy you brought me
In the days of my years

This was inspired by both Elton John's 1997 version of "Candle In The Wind" and a girl by the name of Katrina Raquel Sanchez. I'm sure most everyone out there had a first love. She was mine. Although Elton's song honored the memory of Diana, Princess of Wales. Mine is to celebrate Katrina's life both in reality and in the garden of my dreams. Its been over 2 years since I've seen her, she left without a good-bye. One day she was just gone. This is the first time since those days that this has seen the light of day. I count it as one of my most profound works. It is not only from my heart...it IS a part removed from it and etched onto paper.(try listening to the song while you read it)

while reading this, i sang Elton's melody in my head and well, i find it's a sweet and personal revision of a classic.

Hello Ron

It was so easy to see that this was written from deep inside your heart.  A beautiful dedication to someone who meant so much to you.

Take care..........Sue
