My Beloved Asir, heal thy afflicted mind! From pillar to post you travel, dragging woe and heartache; It falls as rain in the evenings; The ever flowing rivers, waging war of mind A fitted cap, in pain with chattering teeth Going down on your knees; The days miserable laments, praying for resolution; Each day and night, in cold and heat You poor fool! You are the river, the physician; Pain's medicine that encircles the earth; The Eagle overthrown by sorrow, to laugh in a huddle; Grinding stone, do not swear falsely by the Gods! Defend yourself, against the evil days Your herd high on mountain top, see the stags run from the round hills; Loving I say to you, from all harmful intentions! Deliver yourself, don't toss your heart into wretched punishment; And my boy, you have no charm about you; Destroyed when summer is waxing; You haven't fooled me! Now what are you going to do! Stage heartache? I'll see some end to this; Oblige me! Unresting precedence, will be the death of you The more divine powers live happily on Earth Open your eyes, with the trust of the old song-maker; Lady Moon, kisses a beautiful mouth; Drinking tears from all weary souls, without interruption; Heavens! Did anyone ever sing for a herdsmen? I had almost given up hope; Beloved Asir, cast this hovel, this delicacy and awkwardness aside; Stand up it suits you perfectly; I'm quite exhausted now change your tune and sing me your song!
