Who sets this course
as foaming waves rise and fall
in a trackless sea-
where might this ship be bound
in the wake of unbound hearts?

There is no course
the sea just mirrors the sky
both endless and unchartered
reflections of hearts not yet tied
becoming a shared midpoint
upon the meeting of our eyes

we set the course, dont we zenman? am i understanding you?
love your work, choshi

I feel deeply complimented by your poem in response

"...we set the course, dont we zenman? am i understanding you?"

Perhaps both consciously and unconsciously, but truly, don't you think reason is emotions slave?  That two hearts will go where they will?

Rushing rivers
plunging down two mountainsides
merge in one ocean.

love your work, choshi

Thank you, and ditto, inkgoddess

Wow. I love this verse and putting directly into my library! Chris

Fate sets the course,
glancing neither right nor left,
plowing steady on
through this ocean of my tears,
nor heeding my entreaties.

Choshi -- really enjoyed this and everyone's posts to it -- all writings were lovely -- I have to agree with inkedgoddess' accessment about the heart.
