Dreams for Gold

The sun plays upon the swale
As water runs the broken shale
Old fingers poke the flecks of gold
And a crooked smile waxes bold

A frothy voice begins in lust
Show your face you golden dust
Fill the bottom of the sleuth
You are the payment for my youth

With you I’ll buy my every dream
And every one that I can scheme
I’ll trade your glitter for a life
Maybe even get a wife

And you my burro, I’ll take you
We’ll go together just us two
You’ll have the best to feed upon
We’ll be as kings in this Yukon

Each miner digs their own declare
But time does take the larger share

JM,
So glad to see your smiling words. Sorry about the computer. It's only recently that mine is working. Had to send it back three time before they told me I had the wrong chip added. And I was lucky to get it replaced
I had tried to make it work so long they almost wouldn't replace it.
Luck today. WWRS

This is one day I won't get the dust rag out and will just leave this shining gem here in all its glory.

Good morning, Sy!

Nice balance and word flow.  Those dreams followed in youth do come back to haunt us.  KJ
