There’s flowers in the garden.
But one of them is ‘different’
Not only the unusual colours ,
But it has grew through the cement..

There’s a herd of wild horses
But one of them is ‘bizarre’
Not just its fearless free-spirit
But on its head, the white star.

There’s a forrest full of trees
But one of them ‘stands out’
Not only its everlasting height
But its patience through the drought

And theres a room full of people
But one of them is labelled a ‘freak’
Not just her personality or style
But that fact that’s she’s unique.

See, this girl is so confused,
She doesn’t know where to sit.
She cant stand around forever,
She simply longs to fit.

Should she sit with the’Populars’?
Should she sit with the ‘Geeks’?
Or should she make up her own group
And call them, proudly, the ‘Freaks’?

With the spirit of the horses,
The beauty of the flower.
And with the  height of the trees,
Over her critics she can tower.

But she needs something more,
And she knows exactly where to find it.
Its in a womans songs and singing
And all the stories behind it.

See this woman has all the attributes,
Of the flower, the horse and the tree.
She accepts people for who they are,
Regardless of what she sees.

And to the girl who doesn’t fit,
This woman means more than words can say.
She has given her the belief and courage
To be herself and  keep it that way.

The girl knows that she will never,
Be able to thank the woman enough
For making her life easier
When it gets too tough

No matter what she is now faced with
She knows that help isnt far.
For this woman has shown, when it gets dark enough
……………You can always see the stars.

Great tribute, Unique.

Welcome to Passions.  As the un-Official greeter here, it is my solemn duty to warn you about fitting in with the "wrong" group of scalawags.  The two most unsavory of the lot are Balladeer and Toerag.  These two villains write some slightly humorous and poorly written tear-jerker poetry, all to get the lovesome maidens here to swoon over them (at my expense).  All you have to do is to constantly remind them that you are virtuous and will only associate with me.  OK?

heh - lil Unique will now spurn those two devils and worship me as a paragon of virtue.  Ohhh, this is a brilliant strategy!

Good morning Stephanie.  Don't let LJA scare you off - he's harmless and likes to make ripples in the water by throwing pebbles.  I enjoyed the outlook of your first poem...and I hope to see more soon.

Welcome to Passions!

Karilea - if I whisper, will you listen?

Sunshine - tsk -  You've warned another sweet person away from my lair.  I see you need a pretty poem written about you, Balladeer and Toerag.  I will return.

BTW, Unique - Karilea (Sunshine) is a wonderful, wonderful person with amazing depth and talent.  I'm sure you will come to love her as we all do.

(big angel friendship hugs) Awwwwwww, I couldn't agree with you more, sweet friend, when I was a little boy going through elementary school, everyone, even teachers, picked on me and abused me and they'd always call me "girlish" because I was shy and didn't like fights and just wanted to reach out and love people and their uniqueness! Now I am 20 and I haven't let anyone change my "girlish" qualities as I proud to be a woman in a boys body, yay! God Bless You, this is a wonderful debut, always be yourself and follow your heart, yay! Welcome to Passions, sweet Stephanie, may you be inspired by all of us here as we will all be inspired by your lovely words! I can't wait to read more of your wonderful words, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Stephanie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

It's a lesson well learned when you can wear that badge on the outside, and I'm still learning it. Well written and welcome =)
