Listening to every heart

0 posted 2004-01-08 08:44 PM

She did not wear native sandalias,
so her own footsteps
echoed in hallways, falling through spacious ventanas
into jardins
where Toucans colored the palms.

Then she stopped, stood transfixed,
and I watched  as she took in
timeless architecture,
feeling the form with grace of curves,

as iron, wrought into sun beams reached
into forever,
but what it was, that stopped her

was the blue.

I know I visited her thoughts again,
as she knew that blue was not only of the sea
or sky, to some a color of hope, a treasure in stone,
but for my own disfigurement,
my own iron-clad knowledge
that in my familial lineage, no one but I
had blue eyes.

She thought of me, then,
I heard the gasp, it floated like a whisper
between ancient walls, then laid
like a flower of intrigue in the jardin

and I knew she would continue to
search ~
if not for me,
then for her own truths,
for somehow, in studying me, she started reaching
for her own.

Karilea, it made me think of how different I am from inanimate objects and even other poeple.  Creation holds a beauty in all it's forms. Your poetry makes me think.  I always enjoy your writing sunshiny one.

Hope all is well with you!!!
Today I decided to play in the blue pages cuz, I finally had nothing that needed my attention.  Life is soooo very busy sometimes!!!!
HUGS,
Bridgette
