The silence that flows in me,
Like the silver stream,
Courses through my breaths,
So I fall into a dream.

I stand in a palace,
Drawn of golden light,
Bathed by the aura of the moon,
Here on this peaceful night.

I stand on a red carpet,
Gilded crown upon my head,
Glistening by the candelabra,
Thinking of my soft warm bed.

I stand in the centre of this castle,
Surround by maids and hands,
I curtsy and smile in greeting,
At all the strangers from foreign lands.

I lie on a cold cold bed,
Seeping painful tears,
My arm strokes your absent body,
Absent for all these years.

Oft I dream of that glowing place,
That castle in the sky,
But instead I have this cold bed,
And alone I lie.

Who knows what is peace of mind?
Where is the path to glory?
When can I live again?
Will this ever be a happy story?

Loved that stanza, loved the form...

Thank you very much.  This poem was pretty much about fairytales and the dreams they provide.
