It’s a poor Sanctuary,
Barely even sanitary,
That she’s run off to now shed;
But no commotion
Of emotion
A little privacy instead.
Make-up once done
Now random run
Leaving eyes of blue and red,
She had to depart
Stabbed in the heart
With the words harshly said,
Tears unseen
Now wiped clean,
Repainted held high head.

Gloom

I really enjoyed this Professor. I've found myself seeking this temporary sanctuary on more than one occasion. You've masterfully captured this moment in time where one finds privacy to pull themselves together and walk back out with their head held high - no onlookers any the wiser. Well done!

Best wishes,
/Kit

This is so well portrayed. I've made a few trips to that room, so no one would know how deep those words have cut.

You've definately captured a common experience amongst us females - except there are a few other rooms; every room in my house that has seen this experience. What I wonder is where does a guy go in a tense moment?

Good to see another post of yours.  They can be addictive... They keep getting better and better!  You so capture the inner emotions!

Catchy title, too.

Gloomy,

You know women!  I too have ran off to the bathroom to shed my tears in private...

Well done!

me, I just stand wherever I'm at and cry, so what if my makeup runs and makes me look terrible...my pain will not be hidden

good write, and made me think

This is neatly stated.  I like the ending.  After a good "release" brought on by a hurt, it feels great to be "repainted" and stand tall.  Excellent!

it truly is a beloved sanctuary...
One I know too well,
Though I guess not really that much, since I'm usually alone anway
...isn't it ironic.
anyway, I love this.
