seems like
a once predominant moon
is now sitting dimly
on a tripod-like bar-stool
straddling memories
while lamenting
a certain lack of sunlight
that lent him his glow.
almost forlorn, he is dressed
in deposits of aloof
like a distanced spy
who once had been of great import
to the glory of a vast army
of candid generals and ready soldiers

seems like
the woods that once were green
are tired, broken and w i t h e r i n g
their heavy breaths extend their stay
as their laurels are traded
in rendered images on sale
of many sun-tipped yesteryears
when even black and white pictures
held million layers of beauty
surreal in grey shades of green

seems like
one day the execution of woods
will be sanctioned
under some odd treatise of mercy
and massive trunks shall become
brown lavish coffee tables,
and varnished mantelpieces
upon which will delicately lay
frames holding colours
and delightful scenes of
christmas dinners
when all the near and dear smile
for the lifetime of a flashbulb
as the candid camera gets to work

seems like
absolutely normal
no reason to moan
how shall we pay the rent?

All things considered...
the moon smiled on you for this, Sudhir,
or at least it
seems like...

there is always always a way...good morning and thank you for sharing a wonderfully written work of art here...lovely words and write, not to mention a very astute perception.

I was almost picking up a drunk's lament then the meaning seemed to change.

Perhaps daylight took away the mystery of the night and nothing a drunk likes least is hot sunshine and a reminded of their behaviour.

Some utterly fantastic lines and images in this, reams of emotions, too.  Though I saw many favorite lines, I think I can call this section my favorite:

straddling memories
                        while lamenting
                        a certain lack of sunlight
                        that lent him his glow.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Sudhir,
It does seem a full circle. Enjoyed the read.

Always such joy in reading you~

'seems like

on a tripod-like bar-stool
straddling memories
while lamenting
a certain lack of sunlight
that lent him his glow'

How graphically you word-paint this thought~
