A young man runs atop the levee
not as a god but as a god might run
effortlessly
in cadence with the chant of river's current
ahead, a rabbit scurries into the underbrush
as the young man rounds the bend
leaving behind intonations of the river
echoing off of barren levees.

I can see it!  I can hear it!  How I love this scene you've painted.  Keeping it in my library.  May I send it to a friend, as well?   ~K~

Well I don't know what you were thinking to bring this on, but what an absolutely glorious painting to view just before bed Tim.  Fantastic writing as usual, and Happy New Year to you and that wonderful gal of yours.

Were you watching the runners on the dike across from Burke park?  You described it very well, Sir.  But dang, all you forgot was to see his breath on the air.  It's 3 degrees!

Great prose, Tim!  I can almost feel the crushed granite beneath my feet and hear the sound of every footstep.  Great writing!

Nothing like a good run along the levee.
Well done.
