In Secret Speaks

Meandering on trails far into the silent woods
Thinking there a part of me that culture hoods
Packed light, essentially marshmallows and matches
Binocular accessories, a journal tucked inside the patches
A brush, and face paint should the sun faint
I might help to make up time

Not afraid to stroll alone, safer in the forest roam
Spies have yellow eyes, and warning songs
Packed silver in the moonlight howl
Washing paw prints on a brook side towel
And I am empty of my fear, left it here
I might have to share, a rib to spare

What’s the sense astride the fence?
I offer nothing tasty just dessert to swallow hasty
Packs in starlight tramp, around my camp
The language that contains the last remains
Of souls that skirt the floor and lone what’s more
To sit across the firelight, recanting crept upon the night
I think I might…lean over and just take a bite

But then again to give seems somehow better
Scarlet cape beneath the nape a hopeless tether
Packed light, slung platitudes that disregard
Wandering the feeble yard of in between
The lesson sight unseen is that the silence
Has a meaning sometimes in a cunning violence
I think, in terms that stretch back all humanity

Should the frostbite of calamity consume me
I become Omega in redemption of all sovereignty

And Alpha stands the woodside hill
in prance of male in wander still
In wait of she the forest floor
his want of her forever more.

For as the trees do sigh softly
and in the boughs most loftily
A bird shall sing a warbled trill
as Alpha stands the woodside hill.

Good Morning Kathleen,  beautiful write on
a Saturday....

The secrets of the silent woods speak clear ... beyond fear.

Love your reflections, this is a exceptional, thought provoking write.

Love, Margherita
