New Year’s Babe Coming of Age

You have always been one to take good old time,
Late to rise, but , a fast thinker on your toes.
Music in your fingers, and art at your dispose
Common sense and logic, you demo as life goes.

Happy birthday, reluctant girl of age,
Wondering where you’ll go and what’s your purpose.
Answers shouldn’t be rushed you know.
Like your natural stride, questions should be given time.

If it’s college years you decide, and it takes more than four,
Things will work out if your major changes.
More important, time for your dreams to explore.
Being late has never hurt you, Babe of January Two.
(You were county’s FIRST,
even after, you were one day overdue!)

Happy 18th birthday, Young Lady!

Sadie, you strike me as a mother who gives excellent advice. At 18 we are reluctant, impetuous, eager, hesitant, undecided...so many things rolled into one. The best advice one can give is to get out there and enjoy yourself and allow life to happen. Sounds to me like what you're saying....excellent!

BTW, I'm available for adoption

Excellent...I like your concept very much, and the way you execute it is flawless. Well done.

Ratleader,

Wow, you've made my day with your comment! "Hm.  I execute excellently?"  (Give me time to ponder that one for a while, to throw all meanings upside down in the air, turning them around to check out all possibilities.
Again, thanks for your kindness and response.  I always enjoy hearing your thoughts.

Paul,
It is my pleasure to be able to share this.  It is so hard growing up, I think.  Gee---I'm still working at it and I'm ? years old!
Thank you for your sweet comment.
