Evergreen, Oh, Evergreen

evergreen, oh, evergreen
you fill the scene with evergreen

a symbol of eternal love
sent from above in the perfected Dove

you’re ever green, oh, evergreen,
yet not as keen as the wondrous scene

in manger stall the All in All
of Jesus Christ the Savior King

a promise eternal a gift quite supernal
from the Father, of all, in the flesh.

a Babe for mankind who boggled the mind
of wisemen and shepherd alike

they thought Him a King, He’d rule everything,
but they found a sweet Babe in a creche

His Life foretold by ancients old
would atone for the sin of all

the key to receive, is only believe
and accept in one’s heart to the full

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

amen
I live by you in Washington so we have tons of evergreens... but none are as beatiful as the manger... or as the God who created them.

Always, Alyssa

Great Poem. I love ever greens. That was one of the biggest reasons I loved living in Michigan all the beautiful evergreens. Well keep up the great wrinting in 2004!
