~*~

Was it you or myself
or a desire of the heart
to hold on or let go of.

So many summer days ago
your arms were a safe harbor
that drew me in.

Sliding across the glide
and still
the water runs blue.

Filled by the pouring out
rushing the tide to hide behind
keeping one step ahead of the day.

Soundless echo's lie weeping
deep bellows float to the top
unsuspecting, what doesn't come clear.

Enduring the endless churning
in search of a gulf stream
to let my guard down.

Where sails flap in the winter wind
rocked to sleep over the ocean
making my peace to leave you.

As other ships pass in the night
there is little comfort or solace
as the sun moves higher in the sky.

The day breaks, unrelenting
as the current pulls
the urge to satisfy.

Taking me back
to the pleasure of you
that comes into view.

~In my dreams~

"Taking me back

that comes into view.

~In my dreams~"

Really liked the ending -- and do understand the yearning.  Happy New Year, BluesS!

IWIHWT!!!

As I have said before...when ever you mix your muse with the ocean...the results are lovely poetry...and this is.

I can remember Forever December,
The center of dying ... the heart of the pain.
The stars surround me ... the cold astounds me.

A wonderful dream to have....and I'm glad you shared it here. The best kind of dream is one that comes true before you have it.

Well the truth is, I am learning what I should have learned a long time ago.  That going with the flow makes for the smoothest sailing.  It just took me a while to get with it!

Thank you all for reading and for leaving your nice replies.  I appreciate them and you so very much.

The wind will blow in a direction all it's own, and if I'm lucky I will catch it and if not,  I will let it go.

It's really not that complicated after all!

Thank you Helen....my friend~

I hope you are around tonight...your time...or even mine... to wish a Happy New Year to.  I am still in self-isolation here...and  am not even sure I would want or let company in, in my condition, although I am improving slightly.

hugs and love, Lori..and all the best to you.

Dreams are for one, but memories are for two. Unless the dream is a memory, either of the past or as I've been blessed with once, the future.
