Listening to every heart

The Little Gifts

It was several years ago
Her sensitivity in shine
Making me so very proud
To call this young one, mine

A song had rested in her heart
Some thing of wind, and wings,
A tear appeared in the gift she gave
My throat caught as Bette would sing

About shadows, and sunlight, and some wind
Beneath those wings that would fly
A little gift of touch to heart
Surprised at the tear in my eye

~*~

In later years of older now,
Her compassion still in glow
She knows her mother inside out
Her imagination all in show

All wrapped up in paper and bow
All waiting to be undone
Five journals for each grandchild
And one for the child to come

“Put it them your words and thoughts,
your poetry for each child, you see...”
Now six books with pages blank,
Waiting for the soul of me.

~*~

In the little gifts of thought, and touch,
Where emotions surely exist
Will the moments of ever best
Dwell in books like this.

Where the song of wind, and wing,
And of a daughter’s love
Bind the memories still to come
To soar in God’s heavens above.

~*~

Dedicated to my daughter,
Krystal Joy

You are each other's precious gift.
How beautiful, dear Karilea, ... and touching.
And the drawing is incredibly beautiful.
Love and hugs. Margherita

This is beautiful...I think when Chelsea is doing her teenage bit (I know you remember), I will have to pull out this poem.  So, I am keeping this one to get me through the next few years...

Hugs,
Patricia

Karilea--

This was so very very beautiful! Both
you and your daughter are so very lucky!
As always, you show your heart

Take care,

Thank you all.  She is especially adept at knowing how to please someone, by watching them carefully and realizing her own connection with them.  I love her very much!

Karilea - This is beautiful, as is your daughter for knowing you so very well.  I'm waiting for her poetry here, as she is so much like you, beautiful inside and out.

Love's the truest gift, especially when it is shown in this way, by taking the time and spending the energy to create a thing of beauty.

Karilea, I have never known the love of a daughter...but through other's words, can feel the warmth and appreciation.

Thank You
