I am the sky
cloud covered
while the moon gradually dresses
in a shadow
I watch and pull the drape

She can not see
not from the back yard or the alley
cannot see the colors
I am mixing from the top

I drop her a soft peach fizz
as the earth and clouds blend

wait   hold time

I see a fried green tomato sky

you try to send me pink but no
I had just picked the last tomatoes
bitter skin yet sweet inside
fried in butter with a bit of salt
taste the warmth of summer gone
yet remains
from the kitchen window
come and hold me time   sky be still
and take a bite of something real

My taste buds are tingling...
and I remember the "fizz"...
Martie...one of your best.
Get that book started.  THIS year!

Just when I need it most, there's Martie's magic carpet to take me on a ride!

Well done, lady. Well done indeed.
