Walking along the river today
I have been kissed goodbye
by a great multitude of
brilliantly colored leaves.
Wrapped in warm sunrays,
for comfort, after letting go,
they danced wildly in the breeze,
ready for their journey home.
Joyfully they performed
their last ballet in the air
and without questioning why,
they knew they were going to die.
Curled and dry they touched me
with a smooth cracking sound
just before falling to the ground.
My heart sent a silent prayer,
my voice whispered “thank you”
to the golden leaves
kissing me goodbye,
celebrated by the blue sky
and by the sun shining bright,
in this glorious moment
of transition into the light.
Goodbye, goodbye …
Yes, I will remember
the beauty of the dance ….
the tenderness
of your touch of love …

Sometimes it leaves me in wonders of why we people dont act more on what we see, just try to imagine how many things could be told in a sweet telling way like you did.

And i agree with some of the others....
Yes theyll be back, but in sign of their sister and brothers.

Smile

Thank you all my poet friends for reading and for your loving comments.
Yes, I lived this scene yesterday and though it was absolutely beautiful, I also associated it to death, detachment. I saw it also like a lesson ... to cope serenely with loss, loss of love and beloveds.
Merry Christmas to all.

Ahhhh, Margherita...

You are the most vividly expressive writer I know...you can just suck me into your world with the way you write. The imagery and passion are incredible...as all of your work is! Thank you!
