thoughts of a dying man

Kneeling now for the blow of death.
Of hope and future all bereft.
Long gone the golden days of youth,
Fading memories, fragmenting truth.

Where are those wasted years?
The memories I cannot find.
Lost with the laughter and the tears,
Lost within my dying mind.

And yet ,and again ,a certain face
Comes again and again to view.
And all of charm and all of grace,
The lover  that I know as You !
