+*+*+*+*+

The softly sung lullaby,
Sends baby off sleeping,
While wee woolly lambs,
Are playfully leaping.

The plushy-soft blanket,
Wraps baby so cosy,
Soon clear eyes are closing,
And plump cheeks grow rosy.

Angels are gathering,
As baby is sleeping,
Enfolding the infant
In heavenly keeping.

The Man-In-the-Moon
Smiles down thru' the nite,
As stars twinkle brightly
On fairies in flight.

The softly sung lullaby,
Sends baby off sleeping,
While wee woolly lambs
Are playfully leaping.

Oh Linda ... if warmth and hugs can come through the lines in a poem, they surely did here in this delightful lullaby. Beautifully rendered ... soft and tender. Merry Christmas to you!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

You reminded me of when Macy was a baby and I would rock her to sleep with a lullaby.  Seems like forever since I held a newborn...

A lovely verse, EA, just as the author.

Nothing prettier then a sleeping baby...unless it's a poem about one.  Hugs and Merry Christmas!

Today I enjoyed four of my grandchildren, ages 11, 6, 4, and 4 months.  This poem fits my sentiment very well just now.  Thank you, Linda.
