  "Mama quick,
Mama come here,
listen to the tune so clear,
it's not anything I have so far
can daddy take it out to the car?
Buy me, get me
don't upset me."
Wooden box topped in slats
woolen sox worn on gifted brats
box contains a tune wrapped inside
issues from within, where it hides..
"buy me, get me
I entreat thee."
A seasonal gift...snow crested drift
wooden tongues carved in eager thriftiness
luxurious song emanates from vibrated wood
if only xylophones would be hammered as good...
buy me, get me
don't upset me!"
A child ogles on, detects its delicate chime
recognizes it to differ from the metallic kind
tugs his mothers skirt at its would be hem
"could I have this for Christmas then?"
buy me, get me
don't neglect me!!"
"Oh, no cries the mother in full defense
just bought you a gift with full recompense
you're especially treated, for the season presses
but my pocket book is emptied by the holiday stresses!"
bye me, get me
don't forget me
I'll be so good on Christmas day
you won't have to pack my toys away!"
