Dear Santa,

I am too old now...but...
In my heart, I am young.
My hearth is bare, but my
heart is filled...with remembers
of yesteryear...

Of nights before a small stove,
wondering how you would come.
How you could possibly come in
through that tiny little hole.

Of nights in bed, fighting the sands
that sprinkled my eyes tenderly, as
a yawn wrinkled my nose...as I heard
the sound of bells...as I dreamed.

Of mornings, so chilly, so sparkling
as lights of our Christmas twinkled
brightly....as the sun rose and then...

I found those presents, I found that scribbled
note.   I ate the last crumbs of that cookie...
I treasured what you wrote....and I wondered...
How did you?

How did you get through that tiny little hole?
Leaving those presents and so much joy,
hope and faith in my heart.

Please come again....the cookies are fresh,
the milk is cold...I have a bigger hole for
you...  And three youngsters waiting to
hear those bells...

Thank You Santa....

Magnus a/k/a Santa's helper --

"Please come again....the cookies are fresh,
the milk is cold...I have a bigger hole for
you..."

Like these lines.  Thought provoking.  In that our holes have to be bigger as we grow older, right?

SMiling at you...

Just as you think you have outgrown the wonder, your heart enlarges with enough room to let all of Christmas enter with the trimmings and the bells on.

Perfect! TD

Barry, thank you for bringing back some
wonderful memories......of not only when
I was a child, but when my "little girl"
was really a little girl, too.
Hugs to you and yours,

Well done, Barry.  I keep waiting for Macy (my four year old) to ask how Santa gets into our home on Christmas eve.  With the other two children too old to be believers, it is wonderful to watch my little wide-eyed believer at this time of the year.  May she always believe...

Thanks for sharing your wonderful memories.
