Mandolin merriment,
precocious piccolos,
gravelly guitars,
vivacious violins;

‘tis time for music
to deck the halls,
for mistletoe mischief,
late night phone calls.

But I can’t find my calling card
and the cell phone got lost
no doubt in a wrapping paper tube
that's already been tossed.

So you’ll have to read this note,
wishing you Merry Christmas cheer.
Next time I’ll start a bit earlier,
and call before the end of the year.
