~* Common Bondings~*

In silence, I read the words
written in the ink of pain
born within a heart
~of broken~

I am moved
by this gentle understanding,
so universal in the sharing
of poetry in motion,
plucking heartstrings...

In silence, she reads my words
she understands my reality,
my true essence, my being,
the emotions that make up me;
and deep within that relation
there's a beauty created, a revelation,
~untouchable~
now instilling a power to touch

my simple words,
like pieces of stone and wood
placed just so
by the heart's precision,
create a comfortable gathering space
where we come together by the fireplace,
it's where we share the vision.

Within eternities grace
I shall remember
the verses
that have lifted my soul
and given me the strength
to look at the coming dawn
with a new view
to see life through.

Rose-colored glasses
~ I do not need~
for I walk with the knowledge
that my vision is now clearer
because I have heard
the messages
written in words of rhyme,

and I have felt their magical touch
within my heart
in mystical moments
woven from your life lessons
into poetic gifting of wisdom
that flows endlessly from your pen.....

Through my simple words
I reach out
across the universe of living different lives
and make the connection
that draws us near
and holds us there forever.

You reach deeper
touching places long forgotten
awakening memories
of who I was then
making me grateful
that I can see
past the pain
of what used to be.

Poet, you have spoken softly
with your words...
and I have heard
your voice.

It's better than I could have planned..
it's made me who I am...

GentleSpirit and Dixie,

Very creative and eloquent!  I believe the world depends on our choices.  Now, in this time, we are confronted with the option to destroy or create.  Poets choose to create.  Poetry may be saving grace!  LoL & hugs,

absolutely beautiful! you two should most
definitely do this more often...the flow
of this was simply amazing, but I honestly
wouldn't expect any less from either of your
pens!

happy holidays,

When the poet
lifts the reader,
the reader
never forgets
that oh so delicate
touch...

Well done, you two.  This was not only
a fine duet, but a pairing of souls...

I must admit I was experiencing the shedding of tears before I happened upon this poem...now, ladies, I am in full blown sobbing.  This is an extraordinary piece that I must keep.  You reminded me of who I am...a poet, one who is still growing and reaching to become the poet she desires to be, but nevertheless a poet.  And this piece...an inspiration to a poet who has not written in many weeks.  I suspect the words will commence again very soon.  Thank you, ladies!

Into my library this goes...

Patricia

Donna, it was a true gift to be able to do this with you. I'm not much for doing duets, but you inspired me.

I thank you for that.

To the readers we touched with this write: my heart is warm, thank you for your replies.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
