It’s Christmas, and I’d like to share the
Splendor of it here
Where all familiar sights and sounds
Are topped with British cheer!

The shops are all adorned with care
The keepers all await
The throngs of bustling shoppers
Who are greeted as a ‘Mate’…

There’s music live within the Square
That sets the joyful mood
And everywhere, in open air
The smell of wondrous food!

And don’t forget the center stage
Father Christmas takes his place
He greets the little angels
With a smile for every face…

And oh what faces meet my eyes
So rosy-cheeked and sweet
All bundled up in winter’s fare
Around their Santa’s feet…

While Moms and Dads look on in joy
To see their children’s smile
Then memories of their childhood dreams
Relax them for awhile…

Then off they go, to home again
Where lights and warmth abound
And I am left believing
In the spirit I have found…

For all around are sights that seem
To come from olden days
Traditions that are not forgot
Within the modern ways…

So, from this ancient land
Where Christmas wraps itself in cheer
I send my love to all of you
And wish that you were here!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A very Merry Christmas to each and everyone
And wishes for the best to come in the New Year!
~Sunny~
You reminded me of my childhood - just that warm, unhectic, nostalgic feel.  Thanks
Oh Sunny, this is so pretty. I was in Germany one Christmas years ago, and it was so beautiful at that time of year. That was the first year that I had ever driven in snow. LOL Or walked in very much snow, either, actually. LOL
Love you, sweet friend,
Hi LeeJ, and thank you!! I'm sending my best wishes to you and yours, too!!  ~S~
Hi Ariana, and thank you!! Wish you were here too, but you're in my thoughts you know, and we'll share Christmas together, ok? ~S~
Hi Gentle Spirit, and thank you!! And so glad you enjoyed the mental pics of England at Christmastime!  ~S~
Hi Sunshine, and thank you!!  Yes, I feel that way as I see all the very English traditional beauty that's all around, and the wonderful people enjoying it all!! ~S~
Hi Copperbell, and thank you!!  I believe that's what Christmas is for us...all those good feelings rolled into one season!  ~S~
Hi HopeS, and thank you!!  Yes, you are having a 'sunny' Christmas, but that spirit is still there...shall I send you a bit of the English fog that I woke up to this morn?  LOL!  Have a great one, my friend!  ~S~
Hi Ethel, and thank you!!  Well, there is no snow in Northern England yet, but it could happen!  I'm used to it, after Alaska, but think I prefer the fog we have here tonight...(no shoveling!)  Have the best season ever, dear friend!  ~S~
~~ Merry Christmas to all, and so glad you shared your thoughts with me! ~~
Sunnone -- thanks for your wonderful greeting.  I loved the lines:
"And oh what faces meet my eyes
So rosy-cheeked and sweet
All bundled up in winter’s fare
Around their Santa’s feet…"
Holiday cheer to you, too!
(smiles) Yay! Oh Sunnyone,  have never had a Christmas in London or anywhere in Europe but it must be sooooooo beautiful as the white christmas spirit is ever so common there and celebrated with such class! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, I send holiday teddy bear hugs across the Atlantic to you, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sunnyone, thank you for sharing!
May love and light always shine upon you!
