Room of Blue

She asks me to explain how I feel
I go to speak, but no words can I find to say
Perhaps I'm tired of the pain I'm feeling
Always wishing for a brighter and happier day

I should perhaps be more thankful for what I have
It's not that I don't care
I mean I have a wonderful family, beautiful friends, the love of my life
All this love to share

Inside though, way down deep, I feel alone
I cry inside, even while smiling for the world to see
I wonder why I can't let the pain go
Everyone else is able to set their heart free

In hushed whispers I tell my hearts story
I tell of the pain now, and of the pain then
Explain about the loss of my mother
How it killed me inside to lose my best friend

She says I have strength, and have come a long way
I wish I could believe that a little more
Always feel like I'm traveling in circles
Never going anywhere really, always looking for a way to soar

Tears that don't quite touch my cheek during the day
Come like rain on my pillow at night
As I lay awake waiting and waiting
For a peak of morning's light

I feel surpressed by my fears and insecurities
There's just so much emotion, so much to go through
I lock myself behind the closed door
In my room of blue

"love is like a butterfly--
if you chase it,
it will surely fly away,instead
hold it close and watch it grow into
something beautiful"
~me~

Amy, you are going just where you need to go, in your own time....
Keep writing it out, it helps.
Well done...

Yes, Donna has some good advice...
keep writing it out...
soon it will become a balm, a salve,
as the hurting heals...
and the good times flood back
with love.

Captivating poem, Aimster... I fully believe that the way to make love grow stronger is to pour it out.  You've done that in this poem, and what a great tribute you gave to your love for your mother, too... Keep writing, I think it is so freeing!

Aimster
I think your room needs a paint job.
How about a rose tint with some green trim.

Aimster - every word comes from within, it will get better. Writing helps a lot, gets out the deepest of it. My best to you...

One morning at a time . . .

Sometimes there is a deep loneliness from something we have lost and for others from something they never had.

Sometimes we can turn our weakness into our strength.

Keep writing, we'll keep reading . . .
