“I DID NOT KNOW YOU THEN”
by
Bill Charles
~~~~
Once when I was alone my thoughts
kissed upon the softness of your
lips in between gentle
raindrops as they caressed your
face, and it was good, yet
I did not know you then…
And once when I was alone my
being reached out for a
warmth to embrace, to hold it
close and gaze into eyes
to mesmerize me, and I did, yet
I did not know you then…
A smile now greets me in mornings
light with eyes that open in
dawn of newness, skin
smooth as rose petals soften me
in desires touch, fingers
entwine together in
loves wanting and I’ve learned
all the pleasures of you, yet
I did not know you then…
this is so very pretty... you have
such a kind heart, and your love shows!
as the world turns, so does each and every person...ever revolving, so we are in constant change...do we ever really know someone...or, is it when we meet them, they are who we wish them to be, and when they do not live up to our expectations...we feel left down...betrayed, due to our infactuations?
That is what your poem has taught me today.
Many thanks...wishing you and yours a lovely day.
Alright, Billy Boy *grrrr* - You're taking over my turf as a romantic poet.  (Which shouldn't be too hard, considering you have talent in this vein and I have, alas, very little.)  Your poem was great.  Whoever you wrote it for must be very pleased (unless it's Toerag, then you need serious help!).
Hello Bill
As always your words are as smooth as silk, simply beautiful.
I wish for you much love and happiness in the New Year.
Take care.......Sue
