Beneath the Surface

Somewhere beyond here, death is waiting,
as I try to starve its appearance
remaining speechless, allowing the thoughts
to travel as far as my clenched lips
that prevent the cold's chapping
from tearful words.

Beneath the surface I have been brushed
by a warmth, an invitation not met,
caught up in cliches of another world
where Winter has come and settled in.
Its wall of distortion standing before me,
blocking me, ending it
before it ever had a chance to begin.

I let the shadows whisper to me,
their pretense guiding me to that place
where spirits come alive and feelings are reborn.
I live in the house that dreams built,
random thoughts beneath the surface...
waiting for the gift of you.

Woohoo naked one. Love this. Darn you did well. Wonderful piece here my friend. Enjoyed it so very much but...pssst...I am kind of jealous I did not write it! (Wink!) Seriously...well done.

Maureen, I can hear your heart pounding
so many miles away~

Please know I will always be here for you,
