J.C. works on Christmas eve
Down at the Star Light diner:
Fifth and main, he pours
Black coffee
For the red eyed suit
And other revelers,
Late for their families
Christmas-eve dinners;
Talks them sober,
Sends them home, forgiven.
*
"It's your birthday, man,
You shouldn't have to work tonight",
Shivers out, the skinny
Topless dancer,
Fully dressed, but newly fresh
From spinning, nearly naked,
'round her pole for all the perv's.
*
It's no bother,
It's my pleasure", his reply,
"You must remember
I've been sent with obligations,
And the reason I have come here
Is to serve"
*
end

wow,
before I say anything else, gonna hit the library button so I can keep this.
k, now that that's done... this is excellent. And amen to it, he humbly serves us, when we owe everything to him.
Thank you for this...

Always, Alyssa
