I know a man named Balladeer
Who hasn't been online much here
Busy catching bugs I suppose
Or maybe he's laying down to doze

I know a man named Toe
In teasing he's a pro
Always makes me laugh that guy
Read his poems and you know why

I know a man named LongJohnAg
Now he's a man who can really nag
When he's around I'm in first row
With popcorn and pepsi to watch the show

Their muses seem to've flown elsewhere
No joyful words from them to share
I know it happens from time to time
But I do miss their beautiful rhyme

Could I tempt you to writing Deer?
Though I've not much to offer I fear
Cabernet Sauvignon and cheese perhaps?
Just enough so you won't collapse?

Could I tempt you to writing Toe?
And provide us with an overwhelming show?
I'll promise to send you rags galore
A colourful toe rag, who wants more

Could I tempt you to writing LongJohn?
It's been too long since you have gone
Sailor come home, please don't wait
One word from you and they'll take the bait

Let's make it a Christmas happening
I promise you that I won't sing
Holding tone is not my skill
But sending you knuffels I surely will

Like scattered leaves...my words will flow

I hear ya, and agree. Most fitting poem, Titia, and I'm reminded again of the wonderfully witty whimsy wars 'twixt them three scalawags.

I'm really sorry, Titia girl.
I guess that I'm to blame.
My stinging repartee caused them
To slink away in shame.

I didn't mean to be so rough.
I tried hard to be gentle
Not realizing those two boys
Had problems that were mental.

Long John moved to a desert island
With his Lorelei.
He watches cruise ships passing
With a melancholy sigh.

If someone mentions poetry
His face contracts in fear
Recalling all the torture
At the hands of Balladeer.

Toerag? Well, it seems that he
Has disappeared from Earth,
Convinced by words from Balladeer
He didn't have much worth.

I heard that he was washing windshields
Down Miami way
Sleeping in a cardboard box
Somewhere on Biscayne Bay.

He stays away from women
Cause he feels a trembling fear
That one might make the giant sin
Of calling Toerag "Dear".

So don't expect to see those fellows
Sneaking around here.
They learned that you don't loiter in
The home of Balladeer!

I like this, Titia. I think I'll go get one of my poems from last year about our three musketeers. LOL
I miss them and their poems back and forth to each other.

With a request like that
from a lady like you,
I certainly hope
they make it through,
there must be a reason,
snow or golf balls or such,
perhaps Toe is just out of touch?
But bring it on
these requests of yours...
perhaps even Santa
will rest assured
that 'Deer, Toe and LongJohn
make your Christmas bright
by leaving you poems
by glimmer of candlelight!

When asked some time ago
Why it was I chose to write,
I responded I chose to lift up those,
Who didn't have a muse in sight.

So I wrote about that rascal 'Deer,
To encourage him to try
To write more clear some words in here
And make the women cry.

Instead....

'Deer wrote about his bug collection
And his womanizing ways.
He needed direction (and disinfection)
That's why I put him in his place.

I love this, Titia... *S*

So Deer's claiming to have run everyone off... but he doesn't loiter here, either? A lynch mob may be gathering under his tree to address his sins. LOL

But it seems the sailor has remembered this URL... maybe Toe will find a break in his busy... let the games begin! *S*

What IS Christmas without the Trio, anyway?  Nothing but a bunch of Bah, HumBUG!

Ahhh I love this...two of them couldn't resist this challenge and I'm still waving my rags to you Toe but I saw you already posted one of your beauties.

LOL Balladeer, you really thought you chased them two rascals away No way my friend, you have to try harder I'd say.

LongJohn, nice to see you sailor and thanks for taking part, I love your answer.

And to all others... we sure missed them, didn't we LOL
