Her Daddy was a high rise builder
I was just one of his roustabout men
Until the day that I met her
An felt her eyes draw me in
So I arranged to meet her later
at a bar called Gentleman Slims'
hoped her Daddy wouldn't discover
what we knew would never please him.

In a corner we shared our familiars
at a table far from the crowded bar
just simply enjoying the freedom
of two people uncovering their heart
The weeks that followed seemed timeless
unfolding in intimate parts
we graced each other with pleasure
til she called me and set us apart

Chorus:
Woh I never wanted that phone call
Cause there's a wrong way to learn the truth
Said she was carrying our baby
But Daddy left her no room to choose.
She was trapped in a social prison
couldn't escape over the wall
she was scentenced against her decision
to forget our future, cradle and all

Somedays I can't stop thinking of her
when questions fill my wondering head.
while I imagine being a father
and realize a part of me's dead
I relive the weeks that were timeless
and unfold those intimate parts
when we graced each other with pleasure
until that fatal call set us apart

Chorus:
Woh I never wanted that phone call
Cause there's a wrong way to learn the truth
Said she was carrying our baby
But Daddy left her no room to choose.
She was trapped in a social prison
couldn't escape over the wall
she was scentenced against her decision
to forget our future, cradle and all

Ain't doin nothin at all
Just answerin the call
Kinda driftin away from it all~~~~~

OOOOOhhhh myyyyyy.   I'm hoping this is just lyrics to a song.   If not, my heart goes out to you.   This was such a beautifully well written poem, with grabbing movement and flow.

powerful write, emotional to the
core...*sighs*....a wrong way to
learn the truth--yes indeed.
take care.

it will surely fly away,instead
hold it close and watch it grow into
