Fictional for me but not for some that have lost loved ones

Voices On The Wind
By Paul Wilson

Her voice calls to me softly on the wind
as clouds of gray give way to bright sunshine
Words of hope from a dear departed friend
brings comfort to my heart this time of year

Lost memories of all we’ve shared return
like flowers of Springtime on a cool morn
I see her face amongst the clouds and yearn
for the happiness that we use to share

Clouds release her tears of sorrow as rain
softly to nourish the bouquets of Spring
Thru it all I never heard her complain
once about all the hurt and pain she felt

Another holiday season is near
and families begin to make their plans
Alone again… how I wish you were here
to put a smile on my face like before

I’ll be okay cause you are in my heart
to stay… always guiding me everyday
From this world of ours you had to depart
without me to fulfill your destiny

High from the mountain top I call your name
as it echo’s back in times quiet refrain
Time stops as it returns from where it came
only to leave me alone once again

"To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you"

(wipes tears) Oh Paul, that is the only thing that saddens me sometime about the holidays, sweet friend, I think of the fact that so many miss their loved ones so much as they get older and the elderly have to endure lonely holidays like this! (sad sigh) That is why each holiday season I always go down to the Catholic Community Center to help out with the activities there for the elderly and make them feel welcome and comfortable! God Bless You, dearest friend, I pray for all our wonderful elderly and others missing loved ones this holiday season, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Paul, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Holidays are indeed a bittersweet time for many, Paul. It's impossible to look at the tree lights and candles without being flooded with the memories of those we miss. Your fine writing strikes a melancholy chord in many of us....thank you for this.

There are so many loved ones that I miss.  Today I was thinking about when and where we shall meet again.  I took comfort in my thoughts as I did when reading your poem.

Bless you Paul, for writing and remembering so beautifully.

I now hear the "Voices" of those whom I have dearly loved and lost, carried "On the Wind"...

This poem touched me deeply, Dear Paul. Beautifully ~ and sensitively ~ written.

Paul, a wonderful write that broke my heart and brought forth a bucket load of tears. My beloved aunt is dying and this so reminded me of how much I will miss her. But for now, I am savoring every moment I have with her.

If you don't mind, I'd very much like to keep this.

Holiday blessings to you.
Hugs, Marti
