I thought it had frozen over
like the pond out in the field.
And when the snow laid upon it,
I knew the ice
would never yield.

Now you come skating on my heart;
So much warmth you generate.
You slip
and fall
into my thoughts.
And the ice begins
to break.

     Your imagery was very good. It is just as you depicted it! (I remember this picture well--the places where the snow lay were always the unsafest places to skate)
