All fluffed up coldly
sitting on the ice flow boldly,
she looks uncomfortable,
and I start to feel sorry for her.

But looks can deceive.
For she’s just biding her time
waiting to strike when the moment is right,
when her hoped-for prey comes into her site.

I went to Washington Park today, and 'chatted' with the geese and ducks on the partially frozen lake. One of them in particular caught my daughter's attention, and her photo of the duck triggered this one.

The hawks are on vantage point
lately, even coming into town,

but methinks it's another bird

Karilea, LOL was that an eagle, or even a vulture you thought of maybe? lOL, just my imagination, behaviors of different predatory creatures, and my daughter's cool photo.
That sweet duck really only pounces on handouts and fingertips.
