It is the time of year again
when memories are near
Of when I was only a child
surrounded with Christmas cheer

Then later down the road
of life that I walked along
I took a lot of curves on the way
that turned out to be wrong

And with those turns I took
upon my road of life
Many of them brought to me
heatache, trouble, and strife

Of course, heartache also brings
along with it memories bad
The kind of memories
I wish I had never had

I am so thankful, though
that in my life now here
You and your love are with me
and we are making memories so dear
