This is true what I wrote about taking a walk. For a few people I can't be with at Christmas.

Of The Breath

It's a steady flow of reminiscing that I'm replaying
All in a night of blue, red, green and white
A softly kind of chaos the colors lend this time of year
In remembrance of you among the Christmas lights...

I gathered what my mind could hold in this chill
Carrying anything I'd find that I had left
Winter's moon and the echo of the bells just stirred my release
And, I was in whisper, of missing you, there on the church steps...

The night's in silent creation to all that's calm and still
And, solitude leaned against me just as the Christmas wind
I came upon what once remained on the very edge of hope
And, since God blessed me with a memory I took it all in...

I captured endless, in true form, that summer never completed
I found vibrant that fall just could never do
I now know refreshing that spring hasn't managed to give yet
But, tonight's so heartfelt I think heaven feels it, too...

When my walk's over and I say goodnight to dusk's wonders
I hope the angels come to you with what I just prayed
Allow them to share my words as I get up from my knees now
And, here is what I want them to say...

You are of the breath; Among the breathless
Part of the air I breathe; A night still restless
You are of the breath; Still my last dying sigh
A reason I live; This season I cry
Wish you were here, Wish you were here
Merry Christmas

Saunni,
First, let me thank you for visiting my post and your sweet comments.  Your poem is soooo beautiful, full of imagery; I feel that I was watching two in the past on the church steps, then my attention averted by the bells.  I was especially taken with this:

You are of the breath; Among the breathless
Part of the air I breathe; A night still restless
You are of the breath; Still my last dying sigh
A reason I live; This season I cry
Wish you were here, Wish you were here
      Merry Christmas

I am having a moment that I wouldn't trade for anything right now!!

I so enjoy the way you write and all the love that you wrap it up with.

Big hugs, and Happy Holidays, Saunni~
This touches a very special place,
and I gotta say, it took my breath away.

Beautiful,  you~

========================

I REALLY wish I had wrote that....truly.

This is a bittersweet beauty poetess Saunni...very beautiful sharing of heart and words.

I can remember Forever December,
The center of dying ... the heart of the pain.
The stars surround me ... the cold astounds me.
