This was written about my Aunt. All of which was and is true. The eight through this poem means of the month and of time as in A.M, and P.M. I knew she would understand this but I know others may not.

Eight Something

It was all God given and straight from the heart of eternity
All here in it's most rewarding proof of time
It's been a tender awakening to indulge in these mighty surroundings
To long, to live, and to love you so divine...

Inspiration never acknowledges that there's a limit to life
It just creates moments to keep us ever warm
I wasn't there when God decided to bless this world with an angel
I just know it was eight something when a little girl was born...

Years extended their hands to the rising of splendid growth
And, to your height of harmoniousness yet known
But, I remember my little soul looking there into your eyes
And, it was eight something when I saw my own...

From then on I never went back to what I didn't recognize
I roamed familiarity and it's path all the way through
I never once turned my head from the honesty I'd come to have
And, that's how I've completed the miles... because of you...

Years have extended their hands to my own kind of growth
And, you're still my every yesterday and my today
Once again, you saved me, in the middle of my unknowning
And, at eight something, in delicate form, you chased it away...

It is all of character and the grounds we touch
Maybe never even realizing it meant that much
But, I have all seasons and all reasons to smile
So, understand if I still linger in eight something awhile...

Sometimes it is just good to bathe oneself in the afterglows of memories.

I really liked the line:

"Inspiration never acknowledges that there's a limit to life
It just creates moments to keep us ever warm"

You had both been divinely blessed with the presence of each other in your lives ~ and continue to be...

I'm always on the look out for your poetry, but you make me wait so long in between your postings! lol Oh, well, I must admit, you make up for it when you finally do post one for us to read!

Lovin' hugs,
Linda
