For Sharon, the inside of the pueblo.

Laissez-faire

His cat on his back lay laissez-faire
Hind legs stretched his front in the air
His belly warming to the sun
Oblivious of everyone

He breathes the breathe of summer breeze
His heart a slow and steady feeze
His whiskers twitch in dreamers wile
It seems to him he smiles a smile.

There are times he’d die to be
As tranquil as this cat he sees
And would take lessons or a course
To find this power and its source

It is a path that he would stroll
It is an art of mind control
It dulls the sharp reality
It is a pause of quality

But now it stays a drat of riddle
As much as the cat and the fiddle

Morning my Sy guy!
This reminded me much of The Cat in the Hat.
Wonderful wake-me-up words this morn!
Tea's on...I'll pour.

Wonderfully witty write, ST, says this persnikitty one while watching Meow slumber in her brown paper bag. Her name is Wickett...but Meow fits as a job description.

As for the form, the piece was well done with only 2 instances of trochaic instead of iambic: 2nd line in first quatrain and 1st line in third quatrain. Four beats throughout created a soothing audible quality and demonstrated care and attention.
