My first post.

I struggle just to comprehend
the fact my mind is on the mend
but how did it get broken is the question of the day
and when you answer that one dear
the next thing that I’d like made clear
is how’d they ever know that it was broken anyway

cause when it comes to flesh and bone
they wrap it up and send you home
and maybe have you take a little aspirin for the pain
but if the trouble’s in the head
they go to psychotropes instead
acceptable procedure to repair a fractured brain

so back to where I started here
a broken leg to me seems clear
a splint a cast a bandage all are easy to discern
but if it’s minds they look to fix
they’ve got a deeper bag of tricks
all seemingly transparent should be reason for concern

yea I would like to see the break
or share decisions that they make
cause who are they to say that I’m in need of such repair
mechanically I seem just fine
though they have said I cross the line
but how else can I ever hope to get from here to there

so feigning acquiescence I
will sit and watch as time goes by
while staring out a window that looks straight into my soul
I’ll nod when they expect a yes
but they could never hope to guess
I’m dancing through dementia on my way to self control

Welcome to Passions.

So glad I caught your first post...
Quite a classy entrance I must say...and a humbling talent as well.

Smiling at the content.  You will never know how you spoke to me.

Welcome! A very touching piece. I've been told it's all in my head. No kidding!

Unfortunately whats in my head seems different than whats in everyone elses, and there in lies the problem I guess.

An interesting read.

I want to thank each and every one of you for your kindness and warm thoughts.  This is a site that I hope to be frequenting for a good bit of time from here on out.  I also must say that this has some of the best reads that I have experienced in a long long while.  Thank you again, and hopefully this will not be my last post.
