Marshall Brodien

.
.
.
.
.
Every now and then I feel like this,
.
.
.
I feel half-ashamed to admit it,
.
.
.
somehow it doesn't mean anything,
.
.
.
But that starving artist I feel's a part of me.
.
.
.
It's not about throwing 7's and 11's every time
It's not about X-ray vision
This is not an ad-lib I'm stretching
There's nothing I'm hiding in this profonde

But all at once
Sleight of hand is digitally challenged
And you turn around
The magic words slip and become misinterpreted
And a second truth comes out
Prejudice only lets the damage run
And conseceration desecrates
But who can say
What passed through passe passe
During translation?

Couldn't pull the silent act through
Woke from a miser's dream a moment too soon
The blindfold widens the sidelines
Prestidigitation cancels out time

"Magic is seldom spectacular,
because it seldom needs to be."

But when the rabbits multiply,
who will attend to the breakaway's need?

And all at once
Sleight of hand is digitally challenged
And you turn around
The magic words slip and become misinterpreted
And a second truth comes out
Prejudice only lets the damage run
And conseceration desecrates
But who can say
What passed through passe passe
During translation?

But when you squeeze it into a Stodare egg
The illusion takes effect instead
And the hat production comes to an end
And during the broken wand ceremony
When you turn 180 degrees
Finally it makes sense what it all means
.
.
.
.
.
.
And all at once
Sleight of hand is digitally challenged
And you turn around
The magic words slip and become misinterpreted
And a second truth comes out
Prejudice only lets the damage run
And conseceration desecrates
But who can say
What passed through passe passe
During translation?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
How did you do it,
.
.
.
that trick,
.
.
.
when you redefined yourself?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
how did you do it,
.
.
.
that trick,
.
.
.
when you redefined yourself?
.
.
.
.
.
.
when you weren't wearing,
.
.
.
that magic hat,
.
.
.
and held that wand,
.
.
.
.
.
.
dear child,
.
.
.
.
.
dear child,
.
.
.
.
.
dear child.

But if the bright lights don't receive you
You should turn yourself around and come back home" MB20

I have trouble enough with "p" in one language, who needs a translation?
Ah, maybe that's the point, your dictionary, my dictionary.
And puzzles me even more when others ooh and aah at what makes not sense to me . . .

It's more like (dis)illusionment. Slight of hand? Maybe slight of minds eye. I know just what you mean by this. Losing what was the perception of that person is not easy to go through. It's very hurtful to think you believed one thing when they were another.

Noah,

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain, he knows not what he says!

You are an old soul, friend, an old soul.

Noah, there is pain when we think something
is one way and it turns out to be the
complete opposite. And, the deception hurts.
Hope all is well with you, my friend.

Oh, lil bro, I truly DO understand this one! Especially enjoyed the quote: "Magic is seldom spectacular, because it seldom needs to be." I wish for you more magic, as you have given it to us so many times!  ~S~

Noah
Some kind of wand has been waved above you, perhaps it is Marshals waved telepathic? Anyway, this poem is magical, but there is no trick to it, this poem proposes no illusion, just pure everyday miricles....
"Why!,who makes much of a miracle?
As to me, I know of nothing else but miracles," (Walt Whitman)

Noah, the answer to Hamlet's question of whether to be, or not to be, is to simply BE! Be YOURSELF! We may slip and slide on the slippery path of life, but if our intentions are good, it matters not if the magic eludes us at times.

Be true to yourself, then everything will fall into its proper place.

Loves 'n hugs,
EA

Very intense imagery in this one, Noah. I especially love the verse above. Nice....

Thank you!

If this write is any indication of what you've done, or will do, then you have a rare talent.

I could see, feel, and even hear your voice through this work.

Excellent!
