I lost myself some years ago
Wandering aimlessly to and fro
I thought my life was incomplete
I could not seem to find my feet

Looking back, I wonder how
I could not see what I see now
There they were before my eyes
But I heard not their plaintive cries

The very thing for which I sought
I threw away, without a thought
As I searched, the distance grew
My point of aim terribly askew

They say with knowledge, wisdom grows
I've learned a lot, and heaven knows
My sights are set, I'm back on track
My rounds are striking in the black

Now my life is still quite incomplete
But thankfully I've found my feet
I know my path with certanty
Is a wider one, made for three
Frances, Larrah, and Me

Joe,

This is absolutely lovely...words that I understand so well. I am trying to keep my feet firmly grounded in the wisdom I have gained.  Sounds as if you got both of yours planted where they should be.

Love this verse!

You're in a better place than I.  The knowledge you write of is hard fought, and your poem is inspiring as much as it is insigtful.

Peace to you Joe~ and thanks.

allamericanjoe,
This is beautiful with such a nice rhythm and flow, covering so much thought and time.   Thank you for sharing.
