In times like these I miss you the most
My angel in the sky
I ask myself a million times a day
Why?

Things seem so senseless
They do not need to be
Try as hard as I can
I can't seem to set my heart free

I cry, but I'm out of tears
This just can't continue on
Though yes I'm standing here
I feel my soul is already gone

I need you Mom, so much it hurts
You were always my saving grace
I'd give anything in the world
To feel your loving embrace

I was but a moth when I met you
You showed me how to be a butterfly
I don't understand one thing though
Why did we have to say goodbye

"love is like a butterfly--
if you chase it,
it will surely fly away,instead
hold it close and watch it grow into
something beautiful"

dear aimster,
   Your reflective poem is beautiful;
I wish I could do something to take the hurt away...

I can feel the love, and the hurt of the loss. So sweetly sad Amy, two beautiful people who will meet again.

I see that I am not alone in liking this poem.  I recently lost my uncle who I was close with.  This poem makes me think very much of him.  Great job.  Know that you will hold your mother one day again.

I can't even begin to express to you all
what your tender replies and heartfelt
words mean to me...my Mom is watching us
all and smiling. I truly believe that! She
would be glad to know I've found such
wonderful amazing friends!

Happy Holidays,
Amy

P.S. Lauren...I know hon...I know. E-mail me sometime.

Amy, this is a beautiful remembrance of your mom, but still so sad.
