Camel hair sand offers its cool, scorched sun-fare
to sun baked bodies bronzing under high temple clouds

String clad bodies pulled by sad departers
From the hungry airport across the bay

Brown pigeons and gray-white seagull bombardiers
aim their payload cries to the bobbing heads in the water.

Women with maternal whispers and plaintive stares, mulling
about on high arched feet
folding tropical umbrellas as standing mountains, swing
their children like beach towels.

My daughter's chest breaks water like twin dolphins
in a Florida beachside show, but no one offers them fish.

Blue sky, blue sundresses, blue bucket laying on its side,
spilling blue sea water and not one hint of your eyes.

Even with insects-
some can sing
some can't

This was written at Constitution Beach, but I have been in Florida and experienced two of her beaches....fabulous!  In February, the days were like lazy summer.

Thanks for reading!

Jesse~
This entire piece is precious ...
but this -

'My daughter's chest breaks water like twin dolphins
in a Florida beachside show, but no one offers them fish.'

- is totally ADORABLE~

Today is a gorgeous Florida day to be upon the beach ...
I just might have to head that way~

Ah the beach, sand in my face, kicked up by
five year old bullies with blue tattoos of MOM

Thanks Marge.

(smiles) Currently I live far from any beach in the nation (I live in Colorado) but in May 2005 I am moving to Portland, Oregon and I will be so close to the Pacific coastline, as the beach is where I've always dreamed to be! (big angel hugs) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jesse, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

I grew up in Oregon.  I spent a number of years in Portland.  I know the city pretty well, though now I live in Boston.  I hope you all the best!

And of course, thank you for responding to the poem.

Blue sky, blue sundresses, blue bucket laying on its side,
spilling blue sea water and not one hint of your eyes.

I love all that blue,  and the images you bring to mind~
Likewise there is a lot to miss.

This was so good to read, thanks Sparticus!!!

Jesse, you said that you live in Boston now?
My daughter lives in Massachusetts, too.
She is  VERY  homesick for Florida
and the beaches here.

Thanks alot, everyone.  I love beaches and I am glad everyone does too.  Though in Boston right now, they aren't too appealing, except those Florida ones...and the S.C. ones...My father's side of the family are North Carolinians.  And blue and beaches are wonderful.
