Needling Thoughts

The clicking of the needles
under and over, repeating the yarn
until my thoughts begin to grow
into a lengthy knitted piece.

A true blending, pleasant to my eyes,
pleasant to my mind, as I think about
the warmth that will become part of you,
wearing what these fingers have not
done in so long a time.

A missed stitch here and there
the first rows, a re-learning experience
needing some smoothing out
and with a touch-up every now and then
will be unnoticed.

When warmth becomes a necessity
inside out and outside in,
it's the thought that counts.

Good afternoon, Dixie.

I am knitting for the first time in over 20 years. I can't find leg warmers for my sister-in-law  who is paralyzed, so I have decided to make some for her...Sure takes longer than I thought...
Thanks for reading *s
hugs
