Melancholy; what was,
Again, will never be...
*
The image shadows, dark and bright
(That stare at me tonight)
Ride now on death stars...
With memory all hazed
(Of those that are so far away)
I fade out what seemed crimes,
Because
The lineage of time, and space
Has healed most of the scars.
*
Only good parts of the past are seen
Through sleepy daydream eyes
(Which comes as no surprise)
For the heart adjusts
The focus of the lens;
And all negatives
Escape the paper,
White away all saddness
Leaving only
Happy colors, bluest skies.
*
end

Very creatively expressed;  I enjoyed the parenthetical rhymes, they added a great touch of flavor.

"Amen" yes, I like to end this poem in the same way....thank you

Masked
Thank you.....The parenthetical rhyming thing is a quirk I picked up along the way...I do it because my muse tells me the words to use, but I have arguments with it over the issue of forced rhyme...
so sometimes we compromise...

Martie
Thank you, dear friend.....:-)

Noah
It makes me feel good to make your heart smile, and God knows I need those "big angel hugs"  thank you....:-)

Marge
Thank you, This poem is about love(ly) things, forgiveness of others who have trespassed and my own trespasses..I needed to write this as way of closing, which always leads to different openings....btw, I love the Sufi quote... :-)

Shadows
I have a little left to share, but I find writing poetry is the best way to not erase pain, but it does salve the wounds....:-)
